Things That Help Writers
I have been a teacher of writers for almost 20 years. In that time I've accumulated a few documents containing information that some writers find useful. Having at last leapt boldly into the 20th century with my own website, I can now offer this material as a resource for you.
Some of this stuff is philosophical - how to have a better mental approach to the writer's life that you, as a writer, may want. Some of it is just generally practical: nuts and bolts approaches to such things as writing a situation comedy. Hardcore information junkies may be attracted to the "paper trail" listed below. This is a collection of drafts of one of my scripts. It demonstrates, by (painful) example, how writing is rewriting after all.
If you can't find what you're looking for here, I have a couple of suggestions. First, try out my books, THE COMIC TOOLBOX and CREATIVITY RULES! You'll find excerpts from, and ordering information for, both elsewhere on this site, possibly (in fact almost certainly probably) by following the links you just passed. Second, contact me. It may be that I have the information you need stored somewhere on my hard drive, or, alternatively, in the soft drive that passes for my brain these days. If I do, I'll be happy to share; if I don't, I'll tell you where to look. So contact me by hitting contact me right now.
